CSK vs KKR, IPL 2025 Highlights,  KKR beat CSK by 8 wickets

The fort of Chepauk was breached once again, and this time by KKR. Kolkata Knight Riders outplayed CSK in a one-sided match at Chennai. Dhoni once again led CSK as captain due to Ruturaj's injury. Fans hoped that Captain Cool would bring a shift in CSK's mindset, but it turned out to be just an assumption.

KKR won the toss and chose to bowl first. CSK started in their typical fashion, known for steady beginnings. However, KKR's experienced spin attack—featuring Varun Chakravarthy, Sunil Narine, and Moeen Ali—soon began to dominate the CSK batsmen.

CSK began losing wickets at regular intervals. Sunil Narine was the star of the show, taking 3 wickets while conceding just 13 runs in his 4 overs. Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana chipped in with 2 wickets each, while Moeen Ali and Vaibhav Arora claimed one wicket apiece.

Despite their efforts, CSK managed to put only 103 runs on the board. It turned out to be a cakewalk for the KKR batters, who chased down the target in just 11 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Anshul Kamboj and Noor Ahmad picked up one wicket each for CSK.

With this convincing win, KKR moved up to 3rd place in the points table, while CSK remained at 9th.

The match didn’t offer much excitement, except for the anticipation of watching MS Dhoni bat. After a long time, Dhoni led CSK in the absence of Ruturaj Gaikwad. Known for his legendary leadership, Dhoni holds a remarkable record—having won 133 out of 227 IPL matches as captain for CSK and Rising Pune Supergiant.

It’s always a pleasure to watch Dhoni bat for CSK. However, this IPL season has been nothing short of a disaster for CSK fans, with the team losing five matches in a row—marking the first time in history that CSK has faced five consecutive defeats.

Despite the tough phase, there's still a chance for CSK to make a comeback. Let’s hope for the best!
