 PM Modi will Inaugurate the new   Parliament  House on 28 May 2023




On 28 May 2023 PM Modi will inaugurate the new parliament house. The new
parliament house is also a part of the Central Vista project.

There are many problems with the old Parliament House like less space, fewer seats, and improper communication systems.

some features that are added in the New parliament house-

1] Triangular design for optimum space utilization:-

The new parliament house has a triangular design for efficient use of space, Not like the old parliament has ring-shaped.

2] Spacious Legislative Chambers

In the old parliament, we have less number of seats available in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Now in the New parliament, we have Lok Sabha Hall with a capacity of 888 seats, and Rajya Sabha Hall with a capacity of 384 seats.

The new parliament does not have a central hall like the old one for the joint session but Lok sabha hall may accommodate up to 1272 seats for joint session.

3] Constitutional Hall

Constitutional Hall will be located in the center of the complex.

4] Modern facilities:-

New Parliament also provides a multimedia display on every Member's chair to enhance the work of members.

5] Media facilities:-

Special facilities will be available for the media persons, including 530 seats for the media personnel.

6] Public-friendly design:-

The new parliament gives special entrance for children and specially-abled persons to access the public gallery and central constitutional gallery.

7] Sustainable and Eco-friendly development:-

The new Parliament House adopts eco-friendly practices, utilizing green construction materials. The building incorporates energy-saving devices, reducing electricity consumption by 30%. Rainwater harvesting and solar power generation systems are also incorporated into the design.

The vision is to construct this new parliament house to fulfill the needs of the future so that it can run smoothly for a long time.

8] Interior designs:-

Lok Sabha's interior is inspired by the national bird peacock and Rajya Sabha's interior is inspired by the National flower Lotus.

9] Earthquake-resistance construction:- 

This structure is made with an earthquake-resistance design so it can service huge earthquakes.

Historic 'Sengol' to be installed in the new parliament building

The ‘Sengol’ was received by Independent India’s first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to symbolically represent the transfer of power from the British and was later kept in a museum in Allahabad.


Amit Shah tweeted this to in respect of this tradition which was followed by Cholas then and also when Britishers transfer the power to indians.
